Scripture: Psalm 95
Some wonder if it is okay to praise Him exuberantly. Yes! The Bible is full of examples. Today’s Psalm starts out with, “Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.” Others wonder if it okay to worship Him in peaceful silence. Yes! The Bible is full of examples on this one too. In five short verses, the Psalmist moves from jubilation in verse one to reverent awe in verse 6, “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God!” How can that be? It seems to be a mixed message. We try to put God in a box. But He is so much bigger than that. The Bible tells us that we are made in His image and that each one of us is a unique piece of that image. Scientists estimate that over 100 billion people have walked the planet, which implies that God has over 100 billion pieces to Him and counting. Further, that means God has had over 100 billion combinations of ways He can tap into our hearts and we can tap into His. At the end of the day, He wants us to invite Him into our hearts so that we can begin to know Him on an intimate way. He will then guide you on the path He specifically designed for you. So, if your personality and path are a bit more vivacious that your neighbor’s, not to worry because it’s the path He created for YOU!
