About this blog
I had a nervous breakdown in 2013. Doctors diagnosed me with complex PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Traditional therapies are typically ineffective because patients have been traumatized multiple times by different people in a myriad of situations. We fight daily battles to survive as our minds are overwhelmed by anxiety, fear, sadness, self-loathing, incessant nightmares and physical pain. In this blog, I describe my radical transformation from living in a prison of my own mind to freely living in the joy of everyday blessings. I discuss my daily surrender to God and learning to be ok not having all the answers and trusting that He will give me revelation in His perfect timing. As a result of following His lead, I’m proud to share that I no longer struggle with PTSD and thriving as a worship dancer, speaker, writer, motivator and coach.
For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and motives of our hearts.” Hebrews 4:12 (TPT)
About my writing style: Combining the elements of a journal, a memoir, a devotional, and a Bible Study, I apply the chapters in the Book of Psalms to my life story. Sometimes only one verse speaks to me, while on other days a whole stanza or the entire Psalm captures the moment. My hope is that readers will walk away from this blog knowing how, through God’s grace, they too can feel love, hope and joy during both good times and bad.

I love how Karen’s vulnerability and energy encourages others to know that they, too, can be triumphant in any battle if only they would seek counsel from the Word of God. She beautifully connects her struggles and heartbreaking experiences with God’s promises as she takes the reader on her transformational journey. Karen is a light in the darkness who joyfully illuminates the many truths that have set her free. She is and will continue to be an inspiration to many.
